Fly from San Francisco or Los Angeles to Australia for an almost unheard of price – starting at $339 each way! You have to book by March 31, but you can fly between now and the end of September (there’s a blackout window that takes up most of June, however). Plus you get to fly Qantas, a great airline. Seats are limited – hurry and take a look!

You can actually buy a Travelocity Gnome at Taylor Gifts, and I’m not really sure why. I guess it’s cute and a little bit funny, but seriously odd. Oh well, to each their own!

So Southwest.com just launched their new site. What do you think? I like it – the information is easy to get to, and you can quickly get prices. Good job, Southwest

So, the FAA air traffic controller and supervisor were placed on administrative leave after they allowed a child to direct flights at JFK Airport on Feb. 17. This may sound a little crazy, but I don’t really think it was a big deal. I think suspending those two was probably the right move, but come on – I’d like to think (or is it hope?) that if it was busy or hectic in the tower the kid wouldn’t have been allowed to direct planes.
One question, though. How hard is it to get into the air traffic control tower? I’d kind of assumed that they are really, really locked down, but I have no idea.
