While browsing ThinkGeek today I came across this interesting travel gadget: A RFID blocking passport sleeve. According to ThinkGeek, it’s made of woven micro fibers of stainless steel that deflects stray radio waves. Some of these radio waves may be from thieves trying to steal your information from your passport (since all new passports are required to have a RFID chip).
Now, I’m just as paranoid as the next guy, if not more so. But is this just one of those crazy fads like your cellphone cooking your brain and motorcycles causing testicular cancer? I’ve got the feeling that there aren’t many people who are out there stealing data right now. But maybe in five years it will be more common. Maybe?

I came across this cool site from Howard Hillman – it’s his list of the Top 100 World Wonders that you should see before you die, what he calls the Hillman Wonders of the World.
I think it’s a good list, but one hundred is a lot of things to see! What do you think? Are there sights that you add or remove from his list?

Here’s a bit of travel gear we love here at Neotravel. It’s small, cheap and works great!
Hauling around a regular tripod is just too much work, and smaller options like the GorillaPod are nice but even that is a bit too bulky compared to the Bottle Cap Tripod. Just screw it onto a water bottle and you’ve got yourself a tripod – perfect for group shots or night shots, and no more stacking phone books or suitcases trying to get your camera set up perfectly.

Thrifty has a new promotion that I found interesting. It’s called the Thrifty Wild Car Promotion, and you pay for rates lower than you’d pay for a Mid-Size car, but you get a Mid-Size or larger vehicle. The catch is that you don’t find out what the vehicle is until you get to the rental agency. It’s a little goofy, but it could save you a bunch of money, and it’d add a little bit of excitement to your rental, wouldn’t it? Maybe I’m weird, but I’d be excited to find out what I got!
